About the WC Tungsten Electrode
The WC Tungsten Electrode is part of the ELEHPD Tungsten Electrode range. This is a non-selfconsuming, radioactivity-free welding electrode used in TIG welding and plasma welding. How to specify the right Tungsten Electrode
- Match the electrode type to the material: thoriated for steel, lanthanated as a general all-rounder, ceriated for thin sheet and low amperage
- Check the diameter against the welding current range
- Confirm the tester's safety category (CAT III / CAT IV) for the panel you work on
- Verify the included leads, probes and case in the kit

Which tungsten electrode should I use?
2 % thoriated (red) is the traditional choice for steel and stainless. Lanthanated (gold) is the modern general-purpose replacement with easier arc starting. Ceriated (grey) suits thin material and low currents, and pure tungsten is for aluminium on AC.
What safety category do I need in a multimeter?
CAT III covers distribution-level work such as panel feeders and is the minimum for industrial electricians. CAT IV applies to the service entrance and outdoor supply, where transient energy is highest.
Are the test leads included?
