About the product — GSK Dry-Reed Liquid Level Controller
The GSK Dry-Reed Liquid Level Controller is part of the ELEHPD float switch range, manufactured in Yueqing, Zhejiang, China and supplied factory direct to distributors, wholesalers and panel builders. ELEHPD float switches are used in tanks, pits, sumps, sewage water and pump control, and are built to IEC/EN standards with CE marking.
The UKY series is the workhorse cable float switch and the basis of the ELEHPD float switch range. A moulded polypropylene body carries a steel ball and a sealed microswitch; as the liquid rises the float tilts and the circuit switches, starting or stopping a pump, opening a valve or raising an alarm. The float hangs from a flexible PVC or HO7RN-F cable with a polypropylene counterweight, and the switching level is set simply by sliding the counterweight along the cable — one screw, no tools. Rated 250 V AC with 380 V maximum isolation, or 120 V AC for 110/120 V export markets, in 16 A (8 A), 10 A (8 A) or 10 A (4 A) versions; protection IP68CS for permanent immersion; working temperature 0 C to 80 C with the product rated to 70 C; mechanical endurance over 100,000 cycles and electrical endurance over 50,000 cycles. Five float shapes (trapezium, rectangle, large circular, small circular, ellipse) and five body colours (red, yellow, blue, grey, black) can be ordered, and the 3-core black / blue / brown cable gives both pump-down and pump-up wiring from the same float. ELEHPD factory direct, for clean water, wastewater, mild acid and alkali, and light industrial process duty. The GSK is a dry-reed liquid level controller: a ball float on a stem drives a sealed relay box, used as an automatic level alarm for water towers, water banks and pools and for pump control in pollution and drainage plant. The output arrangement is chosen by variant — GSK-1A gives one normally-open plus one normally-closed relay, GSK-4A gives three relays and GSK-1C gives two normally-open relays. With the relay box mounted at the top of the stem, the switching point is set by the length of the stem rather than by a counterweight, and no part of the float assembly moves electrically in the liquid.
Typical applications
Automatic pump control and level alarm in water tanks, cisterns, water towers, swimming pools, wells, sumps and sewage pits, plus light process vessels in food and drink, textile, chemical and metal finishing. Use the black-and-blue pair for drain-down pump control and the black-and-brown pair for fill-up. Pumps above 750 W / 1 HP and any three-phase motor must be driven through an AC contactor coil (A1/A2) — the float switch only provides the control signal. Also automatic two-level control, low-water protection and meter indication in industrial tanks and drainage pits.
